These units are garbage. The compressor died after two years. LG has a 10 year warranty on the compressor but does not have service techs to support repair. It has taken over two months to get the unit replaced and we still do not have resolution.

The circulating fan assy stopped working on June 20 2024. After numerous phone calls to LG customer service a repair tech from a repair appliance co. was sent to check the fridge. He said it needed a fan assembly but would have to be ordered. I kept checking with the appliance repair customer service numerous times.. They kept telling me that the part had been ordered and they had no idea when the part would arrive. I was without a refrigerator from June 20 to July 3rd. Very frustrating and disappointed with the response from LG and from Kerenza Appliance Repair. New fan assembly installed on July 3 by Keranza technician.

Would be great if not for cheap plastic

I loved this fridge for 3 years and then the door bins developed cracks and one broke entirely. Its not really acceptable to me to have a major appliance fail after only 3 years. I contacted customer support and they were no help. The bins are like $50 each to replace - I dont want to spend $300 replacing the 6 bins every three years.

After 2 years the freezer fan motor broke. Luckily I bought extended warranty. From the net seems like a common problem but LG refuses to address it. A fridge full of food had to be thrown out as I waited for the LG to assign a tech the tech to call the part to be ordered/delivered and tech to repair.

Great when it works

This refrigerator is great when it works. Ours has been in service three years and has had to have two repairs because it could not maintain the freezer near zero temperature. The first repair after 2-1/2 years consisted of updating the software. That fixed the problem for about nine months then the same issue returned. This time the repair person replaced the compressor and evaporator. It has been only two weeks but all seems to be functioning correctly. We owned the same model for several years in a previous home and it was trouble free.

Highly rated fridge? Do more research

This unit was installed in December of 2019. Around December of 2023 the ice maker began malfunctioning and ice was freezing into large clumps. I tried resetting the ice maker which seemed to fix the problem for a short time after each reset. After several months of living with the issue I tried use LG support chat. After 3 support chats that each lasted a minimum of 45 minutes each and going through several troubleshooting steps I finally insisted on my 4th and final support chat that I just wanted the problem repaired. I was referred to LGs out of warranty repair department. I could not get anyone on the phone there as the hold time was excessive. Had I done the repair through LG the cost would have been between $400 and $500 prices for refrigerator service for out of warranty appliances were posted on their site. I eventually hired a local repair service that diagnoses that the ice maker needed to be replaced. The cost: $447. This experience and the fact that a class action settlement with other owners of LG refrigerators was recently approved because compressor failures make it highly unlikely I will again purchase another LG appliance in the future. Very disappointing.

LG Refrif/Freezer service call

We bought our LG Refri during covid in 2021 and its been generally running fine. However since Jan 2024 the freezer section fills up with lots of frost and we have to empty the contents and defrost the fridge about every 2 months. Local LG service came in early June 2024 and he suggested we change the freezer refrig temperature settings and call him if the freezer frosts up again. Otherwise he could not find any specific problem.

I have had this almost a year. Called corp office about a problem I was having with the drawer that goes the width of the frig. they were supposed to get back to me but never heard a word. Called seveal times. The drawer on the outside attached is not sealed. As a result food gets caught in the space. They told me to use a toothpick to remove and you cannot get a toothpick in. The probem will create mold at some point. I ordered another drawer at $100 and that space is not sealed either. My cousin bought the same frig mine is counter height and her space is sealed.

LG Fridge Questionable Compressor Reliability

We have enjoyed this refrigerator/freezer since we bought it 2 1/2 years ago. It had been reliable until twoo weeks ago when the icemaker quit making ice. Fortunately we had purchased the LG Premium Care Plan. I contacted them and they scheduled a service call. The repair technician arrived the next day and inform us that the compressor was failing and needed to be replaced. He spent the next hour removing the old compressor and replacing it and our refrigerator/freezer is again making ice.

Doors closing on us

Weve had the fridge for 18 month now and while we love the size look and general features we have the problem that one of the doors wont stay open but closes on us. Very annoying when you try to get more than one item in or out of the fridge. Seems to be a rare problem since customer service tried to fix it with giving us advice on how to make sure the closes properly. First service rep looked at it and decided it was our problem and then focused on the freezer we have no problem with the freezer. Second service rep tried to figure it out but couldnt. Still waiting for the follow up while holding the door open with one hand...

Love the easy access and sight lines with the clear bins. Lots of room and plenty of shelf space. Quiet running after the technician sorted out the ice maker noise. The only reason for less than perfect was that I did not set up the ice maker and ensured that it was turned off both digitally and manually but it still tried to measure the ice bin and made a terrible bang every hour. All fixed now and great customer service

Good Price Dont spill

I have owner the refrigerator for just over a year. We recently need to have warranty service which went very smoothly. Thank you. During the service it was noted that the refrigerator has no lip where it ventilated so any liquids that spill in the refrigerator go towards the condenser coils. The drawers have not broken however they feel flimsy though that may just be my perception.

Although the refrigerator itself is a delight the freezer is awful. It is not frost free at all. Every few months it has to be defrosted because chunks of ice develop on the back of the freezer compartment. LG directs you to defrost the freezer and avoid opening the door . Say what? When I tried to get a service call I got a rather threatening message that if LG determined there was nothing wrong that we would have to pay for the service call. I was aware that some people had contacted LG for service and been told this problem was normal. I havent had to defrost a freezer in over 25 years and that was a used fridge in a rental unit.

Love this refrigerator

I love this refrigerator I bought it because I had back trouble and needed to quit bending over to pull out milk and juice and other heavy things. It solved that problem but I found the top refrigerator makes it easy to see everything easily. The door panel that can be opened without accessing the rest of the cooler is great for the things I need to reach often. This is the first time I have bought a refrigerator that it became more than a necessity. Thank you LG

repair issues

Love my refrigerator:however a piece of the door closure guard broke off. Called about having this 2 1/2 inch plastic $12 pice replied was told that it would cost $400 to have someone come out. First of all this refrigerator is just two years old and I dont think this should have snapped off. Secondly the cost seems criminal. Im not sure this piece is necessary and I think I can do it myself.

We bought this LG model three years ago. It has been a good refrigerator - ample capacity and refrigerates very well One comment though we have had troubles with the double doors seal bar twice and the doors getting out of alignment. The LG technician was excellent in the recent repair.

Subpar Service

Ive had a French Door LG refrigerator for 2 years its done great for the first 2 years but it recently has quit functioning properly. I understand nothing works properly forever and thats why service departments are a commonplace in appliance repair. LGs service has been nothing short of a disaster and disappointment I have had 2 repairmen cancel on fixing my refrigerator after both said it would be a simple fix. If it was a simple fix Id just fix it thats why I called them. Great product for 2 years and subpar service I get better service on farm equipment

Dont buy LG

20 month old fridge and the condenser fan starts making a horrible noise. I called LG and was given their phone # for the warranty repair department which was in Texas and I am in California. The typical higher than normal demand so leave a message and your call will be returned. I did not get any response from them. I tried to find a mobile repair tech that works on LG nobody wants to work on LG. That tells me something. I finally ordered a replacement fan motor and installed it myself. Now I get the joy of trying to get them to pay for the motor. I cant wait to go thru that ordeal. I know its only $74 but its the fact it lasted less than 2 years. I dont expect this one to last any longer either. I will be replacing this LG product with another brand this summer. I wouldnt have bought this one but it was in the trailer when purchased new. I wont be buying any more LG products ever.

Had the fridge about a year and a half before it started making horrid and loud noises Any attempts to repair 3 failed entirely and we ended up having to trash the fridge and get a new one. Stressful and disappointing experience.

I hesitated to get a counter depth refrigerator for fear of loosing space but kitchen remodel plans necessitated it. However it has tons of usable space I no longer have food go bad because it is hidden in the back of the fridge. Cools well. Several downsides - I had issues with I e according around the icemaker then it would snow throughout the freezer compartments when it would go through a defrost cycle. I was told that I needed to do an 8 hour manual defrost which was quite an ordeal - worsened because no turn off switch so had to figure out how to get the fridge pulled out to unplug it. Thankfully. It has worked - at least so far.

Just the right size for us. Looks great works great. Was an issue with the freezer frosting over right off the start. Finally had LG come out and look at and the gasket was gaping at the top. The tech flipped it over and its been properly sealing ever since. No more frosting over.

Just what I needed

I bought this refrigerator in 2020 and have very much enjoyed it ever since I try to stay diligent on replacing the water filter but it does a good job of reminding me. The only issue Ive encountered so far had to do with the ice maker. Just a few weeks ago I noticed that the ice wasnt being produced as it normally is so when I started poking around it I noticed that the tray was slightly overfilled so the arm wasnt able to get it to dump. I did some research and figured out that I could just press the reset button on the ice maker to get it to the dump position and was able to get the ice freed from the tray. I crossed my fingers and went to bed only to find that everything was back to normal the next day

Good unit but bad freezer drawer rail design

I bought this unit August 1 2019 and it worked fine until about a year ago when the rails of the freezer basket froze and failed making it impossible to open the freezer drawer more than a few inches. We used the authorized repair service recommended by Bosch and paid about $600 for the repair. Recently the rails failed again and this time Bosch responded quickly and made the repair promptly and at no cost to us for which I thank them and give them high marks

I bought the LG French Door fridge two years ago and Im a little disappointed. It makes a knocking sound that Im told has to do with condensation and there is no remedy for it. Ive had two service calls and no solution. This knocking sound started several months ago.

Deli drawer impossible to clean

I love this refrigerator except for one design flaw that I have been unable to find a way to manage. The deli drawer has a clear front panel that attaches to the white bottom. There is a clear strip where it attaches and food crumbs accumulate there. There is no way that I can see to take off the front panel to clean the drawer. It is now filthy.

ABSOLUTE TRASH The freezer stopped working within less than two years and I CANNOT find anyone to service my area and the three phone numbers that LG gave me are over an hour away and nobody will come service my freezer. They were not helpful at all whatsoever and k have no way of lifting my refrigerator out of my house and transporting it somewhere to get it serviced. DO NOT BUY LG DO NOT RECOMMEND
