Good fridge but the inside compartments are cheap

Its a beautiful fridge and a nice size for a smaller fridge. But the plastic bins plastic compartments and slider plastic drawers tend to crack easily over time. Weve had to resort to supergluing certain plastic pieces together. If you buy a replacement plastic bin that will run you about $30-$60 each. I replaced 2 and since then it seems like something new is breaking every other month. Can get quite pricey.

Weve had our LG frig for nearly 10 years now. We never had a problem with it until last month. We called LG customer service and a technician was sent to our home within 2 days. We learned that the compressor malfunctioned and had to be replaced. The compressor was changed out the same day. Our refrigerator is once again operating like new.

The unit worked fine since it arrived in March 2023. On August 2 2024 I went to start breakfast opened the door of the fridge and there was no light. Evidently it had broken down. No idea and frankly a great disappointment. Talking with the LG assistant line was awful. No immediate help was offered only a suggestion to contact a repair service. The ones they suggested had no appointments until the next week or couldnt come to help. I have been without it for 13 daysSo I got an appointment for the same day. The person who came told us the diagnostic was a bad compressor and he offered to get the replacement and proceeded to get me to pay.

Turns out life is no longer good with LG

worked great for 5 years but at 5 yr and 3 weeks 3 weekss after the warranty for the compressor ran out of course the compressor died. I lost all my food and frozen food. VERY EXPENSIVE. There is a very large lawsuit over these compressors... They KNOWINGLY sold the malfunctioning items to the public and other refrigerator manufacturers. After being forced to give a credit card to get it repaired I find out all the information about the dysfunctioning compressors. The do not share their schematics for repairs by any other repair people so you HAVE to use LG trained repair people. Once I found out that the labor was to be extended by 6 weeks past the 5 yrs talk about planned obsolescence I cancelled my payment and they put it back through on my card because I should not have to pay for repairs on malfunctioning equipment that LG KNEW was not worth a dime after 5 years. I will join the lawsuit since the customer service is gaslighting me. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

When I bought this French door refrigerator I was very happy. Unfortunately the insides of the door shelves did break and after 6 years the refrigerator freezer stopped working. This resulted a lot of defrosted food. I called LG customer service and they had no one that could come to fix it because of the area I lived in. I than called a private company who told me it would cost me more money to fix it that it wasnt worth fixing. So needless to say I had to buy another refrigerator. I am not happy with the lack of service with LG customer service or having after 6 yrs replacing it.

Dont Buy LG - they wont stand behind it

Very unhappy with every part of this except the tech that did repair. Starts with the refrigerator not getting cold enough. This cost me hundreds in spoiled food. Have my local appliance guy in. He says I see this all the time call LG should be under warranty. Well LGs failed parts are under warranty but the labor isnt. $600 for about an hours labor later Im wondering why the whole repair and the lost food isnt LGs responsibility. I mean doesnt LG supplying the failed part for free imply they know they have a substandard part? Last LG in my kitchen.

No other option available at the time of purchase. The shelfing units do not make sense. I have to remove a shelve in order for any gallon unit of liquid to fit along with liter size 64 oz and wine sizes. The door baskets-: Not able to hold very much. If too heavy need to snap together. The deli drawer- the hinges that hold the flap did not last very long they broke within 3 months of purchase. The French door to me useless for small units. For any item that needs to be placed into or out of the fridge- BOTH doors will always need to be opened. French doors for small units take away space availability in the door area. Freezer section- great deep baskets.

I did not get a new refrigerator. I had a repair done under your so called waranty. I went through 6 1/2 weeks of ridiculous back and forth misinformation and sheer frustration. Finally having to find a technician myself only to find out that LG would not reimburse me for the full amount of the repair

I purchased this refrigerator in 2013 and it died completely on 2023 not even three years old and certainly not happy trying to get reimbursement for the food I lost and nobody will fix this LG refrigerator. Had to buy a new refrigerator and notified LG about the problem but to date I still have not heard back from them after several calls to find out that another woman in Texas got the same numbers as I had and apparently gave the money to her instead of me Suppose to hear from LG with 3 to 4 days which is what I am still waiting to hear from them. Same story different person it is supposedly in the Compensation Department which is becoming quite the joke.

Pretty Good Fridge

Maintains temperature well and good amount of space. The negatives would be that it shows fingerprints too easily and we had one of the plastic shelfs on the door pop off and fall on the floor and crack. Popped off to easy IMO and we had to replace it.

Died a hop skip and jump after warranty expired.

Compressor and PCB board died weeks after full warranty based on production date. While the compressor part is under extended warranty the labor is not. The class action lawsuit also shows you this is a known fault that you the customer will have to flip the bill for. Customer service although nice people will bait you with possibilities of things being covered like labor as the steps are completed ie. first call service tech visit to diagnose provide diagnosis to LG then final repair until the final time you call and are informed its not. LG also cannot tell you the date their machine was sold to a distributor so your production date may be vastly different from the date they sold it to the store you bought it at which is unfortunate if you dont have the original receipt.

It would have been a good product for the price I paid. However the compressor died after 4.5 years. It was under the warranty and I got it fixed no cost but it might die again in the next few years. An LG technician came to fix it the next day I called LG and he fixed it in 2 hours replacing the compressor. If you live in a rural area it might be hard to get an LG technician quick.

I have a 4 year 11 month old LG refrigerator that ran perfectly until the compressor failed on Friday . Doesnt sound good does it? Well one easy phone call to LG and on Sunday morning the LG service guy showed up exactly on time and within 2 hours I had a brand new compressor installed and the refrigerator was back in business . I couldnt ask or expect anything better. But it does get better because LG s compressors are warranteed for 5 years including parts and labor I didnt have to pay a cent . What a Country

We were initially disappointed that after five years our LG fridge decided to stop working however when we called LG scheduling service was quick and easy. They sent someone within 2 days of the call and he was able to diagnose the problem and get it running again that day

Fridge Died in under 3 Months

About 2 months after we got our fridge the ice cream started melting in the freezer. We put thermometers in both the freezer and fridge. Both compartments temps continued to rise until they were room temp. The compressor failed. We had to throw out many $$$s worth of food. We are currently waiting for our replacement fridge.

Broke in less than 24 months

We bought it from Costco thankfully because they provide an extended warranty. About 6 weeks before the extended warranty was set to expire the compressor broke. It took them a week to come out to look at it and we had to wait another 4 days for the parts. I was told we could get a refund for the food we lost which was a lot. Its taken 2 months multiple calls and multiple calls with excessive hold times over 75 mins once. I still have not received my reimbursement for the food lost.

Great product 2018-2023 then ICE maker heater froz

We really enjoyed the fridge for years. March 2023 I called an appliance repair company to diagnose why the fridge would not make ice. They diagnosed it with the help from LG and determined that the ice maker heating element is frozen AND IT CANNOT BE REPAIRED As the heating element is part of the BODY of the fridge in the foam. Therefore we are going to defrost the fridge to see if that allows the ice maker to work again. But we were told the old fix this came from LG is to buy a NEW FRIDGE How terrible and waste of a relatively new fridge. NO WORD from LG on a product resolution or $$ of a new one or anything.

Bought this refrigerator/freezer since our old one stopped working properly. Looked in Consumer Reports and this was recommended as a top pick. It is very nice and the icemaker works great. Smaller than our last one but we are only two people so it is enough. We also have an old working refrigerator in the garage for beverages.

New French 22 cu.ft. Fridge

I bought this about 2 months ago. Its really nice and works well. My only issue I have is the gallon or half gallon milk container does not fit inside the fridge without removing or placing the lowest tray to the higher position. If you position the tray higher you can only fit shallow items on that tray. Otherwise the milk will be placed in the door compartment which is not the best place for dairy because its the farthest from the cold.
