Racks are rusting and falling apart.

Bought all matching black stainless Lg appliances. Microwave and stove have been good. Refrigerator had the motor replaced once and the freezer decided to defrost every once and awhile and have had to throw stuff away. The worst one has been this dishwasher. The top and bottom rack have been rusting to pieces and now have to decide if I want to spend 300-400 to replace both or have to buy a whole new dishwasher. There is a whole chunk missing and the pieces to hold the dishes are falling off. Ive cut myself on one too. Its rusting everywhere. Dont waste your money on this dishwasher.

Good at first motor died in 2.5 years

At first this worked very well and was very quiet. After a year it started running louder. After 2.5 years it stopped draining and the motor had gone bad. Luckily the part is warrantied for 10 years however we have to pay for the labor. Dealing with LG customer service was a royal pain and took over and hour on the phone to get my part ordered. Hopefully with the new motor it will run like new again but this shouldnt happen to a 2.5 year old dishwasher.

Great Dishwasher vs Bad 10 Year Motor

When I first purchased this dishwasher I was overjoyed with the looks and performance. It does an excellent job and is pretty quiet. HOWEVER the 10 Year Warranty Inverter Direct Drive Motor pump has gone bad TWICE in less than 6 years. LG replaced the first one and within 2 Years it went bad again. LG will replace the pump/motor part but will charge $300 for labor. takes 30-60min to repair Great dishwasher when its working.

Product lasted 5 and a half years and main control board went bad. LG must know because repair warehouse have plenty of the boards in stock. I contacted LG and got a standard answer that my product was out of warranty. So I replaced it with a different brand.

Bought this four years ago and has only needed one recent repair which LG handled quickly and fairly affordable. The dishwasher is quiet and cleans great. One feature I like is how easily the filter can be cleaned out keeping the dishes cleaner.

This dishwasher stopped working and my refund from LG was never sent to me. I have been on the phone for over 15+ hours waiting to get my refund check and it never arrived. Navigating the returns process was made to be like a maze and strange AI sounding voices assured me that my check was in the way. I am still trying to get the refund for this purchase and went through all the proper channels and have emails stating the refund was approved. Nick in returns had me cut the label in half affix it paper and send that as a photo. I have done everything needed to show this item was not working correctly and the refund never arrived.

The machine worked well for the first few months but now shuts down randomly during any cycle. Also at times it will not start it goes into the delay start countdown I have to open re-power close then restart multiple times until the brains decide to run. At times the whole panel flashes like its having a seizure

Too complicated and is now already broken

When I bought my condo the dishwasher was here. I have found it far too complicated. When it was working it did clean the dishes but I do not like that slow dry overnight feature dishes still had water drops on them in the morning. Several months ago I have noticed that it wasnt cycling through and draining the water out and it would just ding ding ding until I hit the start cancel button for three seconds to drain the water out. After much frustration I realized it wasnt my inability to run the dishwasher and that there must be something wrong and I called to have a repairman look at it and he said it needed a whole new electrical board and it would cost more to repair it than to replace it. So after A dishwasher that is only four years old. I will have to replace it and it was $750.00 to buy the same unit today. I will be looking for something else.

What motor warranty?

After two years the motor started making a high pitched sound when running. Shortly afterwards it stopped working altogether giving an error code. After research the error was an indication that the motor had stopped working. I called for the motor warranty and was told that there would be a minimum charge of $200.00 for the call to come fix it and parts probably another $100.00. So to replace the so-called 10 year warranty motor it would cost me $300.00. Considering that I would still end up with a used dishwasher after paying the $300.00 we just decided to purchase a different dishwasher and go to a different brand.

We purchased this LG dishwasher in 7/2019 with a kitchen remodel appliance pkg. It was installed in 12/2019. On 11/2023 Thanksgiving day the motor locked up and needed to be replaced. LG provided recommended service companies. Motor was covered by 10y warranty but service cost was approx $350. Prior to this dishwasher worked great but very disappointed in the life of the product compared to the initial purchase price.

I bought 3 years ago and this dishwasher from the beginning water was dripping and keep switching off .we called customer service and they fixed it however still keeps switching off and i have to slams the door very hard then it was continued. Person who come to our home he said it is very known problem for this dishwasher. Mine lasted about 2 years. The dishwasher was working fine but then one day the control panel started bugging out. I recommend extended warranty if you buy this product Im scared what the repair man is going to tell me the bill is going to be. Their parts warranty is only 1 year so I probably shouldve known just by that to be cautious but oh well it matched the rest of my kitchen. Otherwise its been working fine dishwashing quality has definitely deteriorated in these 2 years top rack used to get my bowls clean but they usually finish auto or normal with food stuck to them.

I will never buy LG products again I already had to have my fridge fixed and now my dishwasher is broken. LG also has terrible customer service. I should win the $500 just for the simple fact that I will probably need to fix the microwave and stove any day now.

I bought my dishwasher four years ago and take excellent care of my appliances. My motor just seemed to burn out unexpectedly. The motor had a ten year warranty and after calling LG they were able to get someone to fix my dishwasher the next week he came on time communicated thoroughly and had it fixed in 20 minutes. My dishwasher now seems brand new and I couldnt be happier with my LG products and service.

Ive been using the dishwasher for a while. I noticed what appeared to be rust marks and checked out the trays. About 1/2 of the upper right tray was badly rusted. I removed using a Dremel Tool as much rust as possible without removing entire wire sections of the tray. The tray was then spray coated with 3 layers of cold galvanizing and then spray coated with 3 layers of liquid vinyl. As soon as that was done I called the LG warrantee department and explained the problem. After a lot of discussion I gave up on getting a replacement top tray. My proof of purchase receipt had faded badly due to the characteristics of the paper paid receipts. Then several months later a new slightly improved top tray and bottom tray arrived free without further prompting. I easily put the bottom tray in place as it was received. Then had to remove the transport wheels from the original top tray and put them on the new top tray. It took just short of 2 hours to put the new dish washer trays in place. They are working well so far. I am pleased that LG covered the rusting problem of the top tray because the clean up work I did was failing on the old top tray.

Esthetically beautiful - also nice features

Bought my dishwasher during COVID. Very quiet and efficient so I loved that. about 4 months ago it started having problems that just seem to be puzzling the tech. Now I have to buy a new one.

Terrible bottom rack

There are no tines in the center of the bottom rack that makes it very difficult to load everyday dishes. The END clean indicator light goes off after few hours leaving no convenient way of knowing dishes are clean.

I have had this dishwasher less than 5 years. It recently began making a sound similar to a 747 preparing to take off. I have had ZERO viable assistance from LG and there is not a service provider within a reasonable distance from my home. This thing is junk. I am forever done with LG

Horrible Dishwasher that broke in less than 2 year

This dishwasher began to give us problems at about 18 months. In just a couple of months it quit working. The repair bill was more than we paid for it. We replaced it with a Bosch.

Dishwasher is 4 years old. Weve had problems nearly the entire time weve owned it. Weve had multiple repairs made. Motor component continues to fail and we get error messages. Seems like a dishwasher should last longer. We have a repairman coming again next week and then we may just have to buy a new one. But wont be an LG.

Dishwasher racks

LG Dishwasher racks 3/29/2023

The racks that came with the dishwasher rusted out. These were warranties. I had to call 4 different times for an average time of almost 40 minutes a call before I finally received new racks. I know you dont care about my time but it is worth something to me.

Unit failed after only 3 years

I bought this unit 3 years ago it was out of warranty except for the motor. Had a very bad burning smell when starting and through the LE code. Yes they would coover the motor but the main wiring harness had burnt and the mother board. Cost to fix not worth it even with a free new motor. They are giving me a small discount on a new one but ouch

Ive owned this product for about 5 years. After about 2.5 years it started flashing on the display and sometimes shutting itself off. I find that it will do this frequently for a while and then be good for a while. I expected better quality out of lg and when I contact led customer service they werent very helpful. Does wash dishes well though.
